SYNOPSIS
Stas is the third generation of Korean-Uzbek, who were deported from the Far East of the Soviet Union under Stalin. He and his three friends – Kasoy, Shin and Said- try heroin for the first time while they hang out together. But then, Kasoy got killed by the gang. After 6 years, they still cannot overcome from drugs and Said commits "sweet suicide" by overdose. Stas, also a drug addict, spends days and nights to be born again off the drugs. After facing He leaves his job as a police detective and takes Shin's advice to go to South Korea, where bright future is guaranteed. Can this be Hanaan for him, a Land of Promise? -

- Ruslan PAK Ruslan was born in 1981 in Uzbekistan (Soviet Union). Ruslan is the fourth generation of the Soviet Koreans in territory of the former Soviet Union. He started filmmaking in 2001. After working for 7 years as an assistant to film director, he began filming short films. He joined the filming course at Graduate school of Korean National University of Arts in 2006. In 2003,Ruslan PAKworked as the actor and the director in theatrical performance "Motherland" which was invited to the 22nd international theatrical festival in Daegu, Korea. He was recognized as one of the best young film directors of Uzbekistan in the project < Film on > conducted by British Consuil. In 2006,Ruslan made a short film < One Shoot > which was invited to the program �Talent campus� of the 57th Berlin International Film Festival. In 2007, he made a film < Healing > (7th Third Eye Asian Film Festival, Mumbai) His recent work < Dance of free bird > was invited to the numerous film festivals including BUDI International Film Festival, New York Korean Film Festival, and San Diego International Film Festival.
